The Rockwall Independent School District is pleased to announce that Bart Rosebure has been named as the new director of safety and security. The Board of Trustees approved the hiring at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 19.
Most recently, Rosebure was the Security Police Specialist for Plano ISD. Prior to that, he served several years as an officer with the Longview, Texas, police department.
After graduating from Texas A&M-Commerce with a bachelor of science in kinesiology/health, Mr. Rosebure started his career as a teacher and coach for the Arp Independent School district. He left that position for the Longview Police Department where he served on the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). In 2004, he went to Plano ISD where he eventually became a security police specialist with oversight for the approximately 22,000 students in Plano’s east cluster of schools.
Rosebure has had training in drug identification, bomb investigation, weapons identifications, internal investigations and gang awareness. Other areas of expertise include interviewing and interrogation, professional standards and ethics for internal affairs and bad weather preparation and alert protocols. He currently holds a State of Texas Peace Officer License.
“Managing safety and security is a top priority for our district,” said RISD Superintendent of Schools Jeff Bailey. “Mr. Rosebure will bring an extensive amount of experience that will benefit our students and staff. With his guidance, we will be able to implement many proactive policies and procedures that will help to keep all our facilities safe and secure.”
