BEST grants awarded to new teachers

CNHI

Rockwall — RISD students were scrambling back to classes this past week. Along with the new students were a whole new slate of first-year teachers. At the beginning of each school year, the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, Inc. presents each new teacher — new to Rockwall and new to the teaching profession — with a grant of $200. The funds are to assist the teacher in offsetting the expenses of setting up a classroom.

The 2010-2011 new teachers are called “B.E.S.T.” for “Beginning Educators, Successful Teachers.”

The Education Foundation celebrates the additions to the RISD family of educators and supports the success of each person. For more information on the Education Foundation, contact 972-771-0605 or visit the website, www.RISDEducationFoundationInc.com.
