Little Soldiers considered suspects in buffalo deaths

GREENVILLE — Arby Little Solider made a claim on his website, lightningmedicinecloud.com, today that he and his wife are now being investigated as suspects in the deaths of a white buffalo and the animal’s mother earlier this year on his ranch.

Little Soldier said he was interrogated on July 27 by the a member of the Texas Rangers. During the interrogation, Little Soldier said, he was questioned about whether he received any insurance money or misused funds received by him and his wife. The white buffalo is considered sacred by some Native American tribes.

Little Soldier said he has not misused any funds that he or any member of his family has received in the wake of this tragedy.

A following passage from the Little Soldier’s website addresses rumors of a large insurance policy on the animals.

“There was not an insurance policy on Lightning Medicine Cloud. A policy from Loyds of London was offered to the Little Soldiers for  $100,000.00 at a cost of $10,000, which was declined due to lack of funds. LMC (Lightning Medicine Cloud) was a gift from God. No monetary value could replace what he meant to the Little Soldiers and the thousands who were blessed by his birth, and message.”

In addition to the interrogation, Little Soldier said that the investigation is also being looked at as a natural death.

“The mom was obviously murdered,” he said. “We saw the holes. The calf was so desecrated that who knows what happened, but if he wasn’t murdered, where did his skin go? It didn’t just get up and leave.”

Little Soldier said he understands this line of thinking is common in murder investigations, but he does not understand why he and his wife were not questioned earlier if the Rangers viewed them as suspects.

“Usually you start from family down in these sorts of situations,” he said.

Little Soldier said the handling of the investigation has shown incompetence in both Hunt County officials and the Texas Rangers.

“They are not stepping up to do their jobs,” he said. “If they can’t handle it, turn it over to the FBI. I don’t know at this point if they have any idea what is going on.”

The Little Soldiers’ website also states that they will now pursue this issue at the federal level.
