ROCKWALL —
The Rockwall Police Department has seen an increase in residential burglaries south of Highway 30 during the past two weeks. These offenses are occurring in daylight hours and suspects are targeting homes that appear as if no one is home. The suspects will knock on the door or ring the doorbell, prior to forcing their way into the residence. Suspect vehicle’s are described a blue or gray Chrysler 300 or Black Cadillac Deville with a rag top.
“We’ve had nine such burglaries since last Friday,” RPD Lt. Kirk Aldridge said. “We don’t know the reasons behind this sudden increase.”
The City of Rowlett has experienced similar burglaries in the past several weeks. The Rockwall Police Department has been provided with a description of Rowlett’s possible suspect vehicle: a black four-door Mercedes with a handicap license plate possibly containing the character “Y” or “N”. The occupants of this vehicle were described as four black males.
If anyone has information concerning these burglaries, please contact the Rockwall Police Department at 972-771-7717 or Rockwall County Crime Stoppers at 972-771-TIPS (8477). Individuals may be eligible for a cash reward and remain anonymous.
