ROCKWALL COUNTY —
Beth Nation, 94, of Rockwall passed away May 5, 2010.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Quinlan to Bert and Nettie (Butler) Riley. Beth married William “Ed” Nation on Oct. 15, 1939. After living briefly in Tyler, they resided in San Francisco during the World War II era. They returned to Tyler shortly thereafter, where they opened The Bible Bookstore, which they owned and operated for 32 years. Beth was active in garden clubs, church work and traveling. She and Ed moved to Lake Palestine after retiring and then moved to Rockwall in 1996. Beth was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
She is survived by her husband of Rockwall; a son, Steve Nation of Rockwall; sisters-in-law Ruby Nation and Joyce Fisher and husband Wayne of Rockwall; a niece, Bettie Waters of Tyler; and nephews Jerry Riley of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Bobby Childs of Portland and Larry Childs of Carrollton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Floyd Riley, and sister Merle Childs.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m., May 8, at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Steve Swofford officiating under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel.
