Inez Ludden
Inez O. Ludden slipped into her new life on Sunday morning, Oct. 18, 2009, as peacefully and graciously as she lived this one.
Inez was born April 2, 1913, in Mineral Wells where her family of nine siblings lived and farmed. She was a graduate of North Texas State Teacher’s College and taught music and English in Millsap until her marriage to Keene F. Ludden, a Dallas surgeon.
Inez used her energy and creativity for numerous civic and charitable organizations in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. She was the president of the PTA at the schools her three children attended; served as president of women’s groups, both community- and church-based; entertained across Dallas by presenting musical book reviews; sang in the choirs at Wesley United Methodist Church and Elmwood United Methodist Church for more than 50 years; and was a troop leader for her son’s Cub Scout pack and her two daughters’ Girl Scout troops. During those years of leadership she took the Scout troops on trips across the United States and trained leaders for the Dallas Girl Scout council.
Her long and productive life was a shining example of gracious service to others, generosity of spirit, and a positive attitude.
She is survived by her three children, Kay Ludden Lamb of Denton, Mike Ludden of Marietta, Ga., and Linda Ludden Sivils of Rockwall; sons-in-law J.L. Lamb and Bob Sivils, and daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Ludden; eight grandchildren, Jason Lamb, Amanda Lamb Evans, Gavin Lamb, Stephanie Atwell, Jay Haugen, Michael Ludden, Lia Ludden Hays and Drew Ludden and Jason Sivils; and six great-grandchildren.
