GARLAND —
Rockwall’s Lady Jackets rolled over Frisco Centennial 70-41 for the Class 4A bi-district championship at Naaman Forest High School on Monday to kick off post-season basketball action.
RHS jumped out to an early 9-3 lead, but 14 points by Centennial standout McKenzie Adams, including three 3-pointers, gave the Lady Titans a 17-15 lead heading into the second quarter.
But, that would be it for the District 9-4A fourth seed as Rockwall put up a 20-9 second period, 20-7 third and 15-8 fourth to secure the 29-point win and the bi-district title.
Rice University signee Alyssa Lang led the Lady Jackets with 21 points on seven 2-pointers and seven free throws and added 13 rebounds for her double-double.
Southeastern Oklahoma commit Paige Turner knocked down 17 points on eight 2-point shots and one free throw, junior point guard Morghen Day nailed 12 points on two 3-pointers and three 2-pointers, freshman standout Sara Williamson fired in 10 points on five 2-point shots, senior shooting guard Kayla Smith hit six points on one 3-pointer and three free throws and pulled down seven rebounds and sophomore guard Ellen Baker added four points on one 2-pointer and two free throws.
Rockwall will next face Dallas Kimball, a 56-44 winner over Woodrow Wilson for its bi-district title, for the Class 4A area championship at North Mesquite High School tonight at 7:30 p.m.
Kimball was led by A’Lexsis Ford with 24 points and Adrienne Drake with 20 points.
