Alex Millican qualified for the main event at the 2010 AMA Outdoor Pro Motocross this past weekend at RedBud MX in Buchanan, Mich.
There were over 80 riders competing in the 450 class event and Millican placed 40th in the morning time trials which advanced him to the main event later that day.
The Outdoor Motocross Championships race two motos in the main event and combine the points earned in each moto to determine the overall finish.
In moto 1 Millican, No. 707, placed 26th. In moto 2 he placed 31st. In moto 2 he fell on the first turn and came up in last place about 5 seconds behind the next rider. He was able to pass 8 riders in the 30 minute moto to accomplish his 29th place overall finish as a rookie rider.
This was the 6th round of a 12-race season with races from coast to coast, including California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado, Washington, Michigan, Minnesota, Washington, New York and Massachusetts.
Millican who is 19 years old, has been racing since he was 13. He earned his pro license in the fall of 2009 and began earning points to enter the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, which is the world’s most competitive motocross championship series.
Millican races with Rock River Powersports out of Wisconsin and is coached by Shannon Niday out of Sanger, Texas.
