Softball teams getting tournament action
Heath heading to Round Rock, Rockwall goes to Allen
ROCKWALL — Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath softball teams will be getting lots of tournament action this weekend as the Lady Hawks hit the road to Round Rock for a 3-day tournament and Rockwall travels to Allen for the Lady Eagles 3-day tourney.
The Lady Jackets were scheduled to take on Mesquite Horn on Thursday and will meet McKinney North today at 11:00 a.m., Plano West at 3:00 p.m., Sam Rayburn on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Hebron at 3:00 p.m.
Rockwall-Heath will play multiple games for the second straight week when it competes at Round Rock this weekend.
The Lady Hawks got in four games last weekend, going 1-3 at the Sulphur Springs Tournament.
RHHS opened with an 8-3 loss to Celina on Thursday, then defeated Frisco Liberty 9-4, lost to Sachse 15-4 on Friday and closed out tournament play on Saturday with a 14-4 loss to Van. Dakota Whittern pounded a double against Celina and Sarah Deimling smashed a triple versus Sachse to lead the Lady Hawks at the plate.

Jackets Advance to championship rounds at state 7-on-7
Rockwall’s 7-on-7 football Jackets carried their outstanding season-ending league and tournament play to the 2010 Fox Sports Southwest 7-on-7 state championships at the Texas A&M University Penberthy Intramural Fields last Friday and Saturday.
The Jackets won 2-of-3 Pool O games and only missed a sweep by two points on Friday to advance to Saturday’s championship rounds, along with Whitehouse. - More Sports Headlines
