ROCKWALL — Rockwall-Heath and Rockwall boys soccer teams will take the field at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium tonight at 5:30 p.m. in the first game of a double-header pitting RISD teams against each other in District 21-4A matchups.
The Lady Jackets and Lady Hawks will face off in the second game immediately following the boys contest at approximately 7:15 p.m.
All four RISD teams are still in the 21-4A playoff mix five games into the season.
Rockwall's Jackets are in a 2-way tie for third with Highland Park and Heath is a half game back with its 2-3-0 record. Richardson Pearce tops the standings with a 4-0-1 record, with Lovejoy in second place at 3-1-1.
The RHS boys knocked off The Colony 1-0 last Friday behind a single goal by Trei Rodriguez and lost to first-place Pearce 2-0 on Tuesday. Rodriguez is among the area leaders in scoring with eight goals for the season.
The Heath boys lost to Pearce 2-1 on Friday with Guillermo Medina scoring for RHHS. The Hawks then posted their third district loss on Tuesday, losing to Lovejoy 2-0.
Rockwall's girls team is in fourth place with its 1-2-2 record after tying The Colony 1-1 on Friday and losing to Pearce 1-0 on Tuesday. Jessie Givens scored the goal for the Lady Jackets against The Colony.
The Lady Hawks dropped to 0-3-1 after losing to Pearce 1-0 on Friday and to Lovejoy 2-1 on Tuesday. Highland Park leads the district with a perfect 5-0-0 record, followed by Richardson Pearce in second place at 4-1-0 and The Colony in third at 1-2-1.
