Hawk hoopsters down Turner Lions

Rockwall-Heath juniors Jonathan Fuller and Todd Franza put up double-digit scoring to lead the Hawks to a 77-56 district basketball win over Carrollton R.L. Turner on Friday.

Fuller knocked down 22 points and Franza drained 13 as RHHS improved to 2-2 in District 10-4A behind Newman Smith (4-0), Richardson Pearce (4-0) and Highland Park (3-1).

Heath had 12 players book points in the victory, with Demi Leonard kicking in eight, Aaron Gladney gunning in seven, John Taylor six and Anthony Haake five to also spark the win.

Following a Tuesday break by District 10-4A teams, RHHS will take the court again tonight when the Hawks travel to Highland Park to square off against the Scots.

Rockwall's Jackets dropped to 1-3 in district action with their 30-point loss (50-20) to Highland Park on Friday.

The Scots defense held RHS to single-digit scoring in all four quarters (seven, five, five, three) en route to the win. HP also held the Jackets to single-digit individual scoring with Hunter Jorgensen, Luke Wardell and Griffin Frazier leading the way with eight, four and three points respectively.

Rockwall will try to get back on track tonight when it faces Greenville (2-2) at RHS gymnasium.
