ROCKWALL —
The Rockwall-Heath Hawks will play host to District 12-5A second place Mesquite Horn tonight at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium following last week’s bye.
The Hawks needed the week off after their disappointing 52-27 loss to Longview at Lobo Stadium two weeks ago.
Horn (3-1) enters the game following its big 25-17 victory over Longview on Friday in Mesquite.
Jaguars QB Destri White chalked up 327 yards total offense and scored two touchdowns to spark the win.
Horn only held a 19-17 lead late in the game, but the Jaguars recovered a Longview fumble in Lobos territory and scored seven plays later on a Jarrison Stewart seven-yard run for the eight-point victory.
White ran for 103 yards on 22 carries and threw for 224 yards and two TDs of 77 and 70 yards on 12-of-20 passes.
Brian O’Bannon caught three passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns, Stewart pulled down five-for-40 yards and RB Treyvon Marsh two-for-29 yards.
Horn put up 20 first downs to Longview’s 17 and recorded 382 yards total offense to the Lobos 243 yards.
The Hawks (1-2), who are tied with Longview and North Mesquite for fourth place in District 12-5A behind Mesquite (4-0), Horn (3-1) and Rockwall (2-2), will be attempting to get back on the win track tonight versus a very tough opponent.
Hawks QB Chase Schultz, one of the area leaders in passing with 1,151 yards and 11 TDs on 106-of-166 passes, and Shyon Motlagh, one of the leaders in receiving with 622 yards and 10 TDs on 36 receptions, will lead the way.
