  • Mayor hosts breakfast meeting for citizens

    Fate Mayor Bill Broderick will host “Breakfast with the Mayor” for a two-hour period Wednesday.
    The breakfast, scheduled every third Wednesday of the month, will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. in the Community Center.

  • ELECTION DAY: County results provide little drama

    Aside from one race decided by a margin of just three votes, all other races on Saturday were pretty one-sided during an election day that included races for the Fate City Council as well as Board of Trustees in both the Rockwall and Royse City Independent School Districts.

  • County has issues with RISD school policing proposal

    Talk of law enforcement, specifically jail expansion and school security, were the major areas of discussion during Tuesday’s workshop at the Rockwall County Commissioners Court.
    The court spent a large portion of time with the ongoing discussion of potentially providing uniformed officers at 12 elementary schools in Rockwall Independent School District, but made little progress toward a decision.

  • Updates on downtown project provided during latest city council session

    Rockwall City Council members received a detailed update on the downtown renovation project during a Monday work session. The project is nearing the completion of the planning stages and is scheduled to begin construction in June.
    Brad Molten, representing La Terra studio, a Dallas-based landscape and architectural firm working with the city on the project, presented before the council updates on all aspects of planning.

  • Council approval helps Fate move forward with City Hall project

    Fate’s new City Hall project moved a step forward this week with the city council’s approval of a contract for architectural services.
    Other action involved compensation for the mayor and city council members, and increasing the city manager’s salary and car allowance.
