There were 37 finalists invited back to perform for the Rockwall’s Got Talent competition sponsored by the Rockwall Coummunity Playhouse, but in the end it was ventriloquist Laryssa Bonacquisti (center,front) that walked away with the title for the first ever talent competition. Cole Ragsdale (top left) perfomed opera to take second place and Dennis Guillon (top right) took third. The competition was held on Friday and Saturday night at the cafetorium at Utley Middle School.

Water restrictions likely to worsen
This past year was the driest 12-month period in Texas history. Although recent rains and cooler temperatures have offered some temporary relief, water supplies have been down and have not yet been replenished. The drought is predicted to continue through mid-summer. These projections make it critical that the region prepare for water shortages.
